OLYMPIA, WA - Enterprise for Equity and Washington State University Mason County Extension are pleased to announce a business planning class for agricultural entrepreneurs in the South Sound.
By bringing the expertise of both organizations together, we will provide farm business owners with a high-quality, research-based approach to business planning.
Whether you are just starting your farm business or have been in
business for a while, these classes will help you learn how to reach
your financial goals for the future by using sound business planning
concepts and tools tailored specifically to small farm entrepreneurs.
Enterprise for Equity and WSU Mason County Extension will help you learn vital skills for running a successful small farm business with:
- Comprehensive business training program
- Excellent instructors and quality materials
- Technical assistance, and
- Peer support
Participation in an Orientation and Business Readiness Workshop is required to be eligible for the full course that begins in September.
Orientations will be held in early August, and Business Readiness Workshops will be held in August and September.
Pre-registration is required.
All classes will be held in the Olympia/Tumwater area, and are open to farms in Mason, Thurston, Lewis & Grays Harbor counties.
There will be several spots reserved for individuals who meet Enterprise for Equity’s income eligibility requirement, meaning participants must have an income of no more than 185% of the federal poverty level.
However not all participants are required to meet this criteria.
This course will help small farm entrepreneurs:
- Explore their target markets
- Understand their competition
- Build their financial literacy skills
- Establish good record-keeping practices, and
- Write a business plan for their new or existing small farm enterprises.
