Washington State conservation districts continue to make news in the communities they serve. Here are some of the stories to come across our desks.

North-Central Area conservation districts: According to the Wenatchee World , the Washington State Conservation Commission recently honored: Norm McClure, board supervisor with the Okanogan Conservation District , Supervisor of the Year; Peggy Entzel of the Cascadia Conservation District in Wenatchee, Manager of the Year; Sharon Davis of the Foster Creek Conservation District Board of Supervisors in Waterville, Supervisor of the Year; and Kurt Hosman, water resources specialist with the Cascadia Conservation District of Wenatchee, Employee of the Year.

Thurston Conservation District: "Septic system workshop is Nov. 5 ," The Olympian, October 27, 2008.

Kitsap Conservation District: "Yukon Harbor shellfish harvest approved," Port Orchard Independent, October 1, 2008. Story about reopening shellfish beds to harvest, in part as a result of restoration work carried out by the Kitsap Conservation District.
