Clallam Conservation District Wins Grants for Stream Enhancement

The Clallam Conservation District was recently award two grants to improve habitat in and along two streams in Clallam County.  These grants will reduce sediment entering Goodman Creek and restore habitat in Matriotti Creek.

Clark Conservation District Prepares Special Assessment Proposal

clarkconservationdistrictboard2007.jpg Clark County residents may soon have a new opportunity to help protect and enhance their region’s water, soil, and wildlife habitats. If, in July, the Clark County commissioners decide to approve a proposal from the Clark Conservation District, a special assessment of $5.00 per parcel will be put into place to help fund the conservation work of the District.

$4.5 Million to Conservation Districts for Salmon Recovery

Washington State conservation districts received funding awards totaling $4.5 million to help restore dwindling runs of salmon.  These results-oriented projects are part of a $60 million salmon restoration program announced by the Salmon Recovery Funding Board.
