USDA Rural Development Funds Available For Home Repairs

December 4, 2007 - In the wake of flooding and hurricane-force winds causing damage across Western Washington, USDA Rural Development plans to make low-interest loans and grants available to rural residents in the affected areas to repair damage to their homes.

Governor's Proclamation 07-06: State of Emergency for Pacific Storm System

A Pacific frontal storm system swept into Washington State on the morning of December 2, 2007, threatening citizens and property of Washington State. This storm system is producing heavy rains, flooding, landslides, high winds, and major road closures and is causing extensive damage to homes, businesses, public utilities, public facilities, and infrastructure in jurisdictions throughout Washington State; and The Washington State Military Department has activated the state Emergency Operations Center, implemented response procedures and is coordinating resources to support local officials in alleviating the immediate social and economic impacts to people, property, and infrastructure and is assessing the magnitude of the event.  Link to proclamation: http://www.governor.wa.gov/execorders/pr_07-06.pdf.
