December 5, 2007: If your conservation district was impacted by the severe weather earlier this week, please read this notice!

Governor Gregoire has asked the Conservation Commission to assist her office in quantifying the impacts from the disaster.

There are constant questions from the media, such as: how many people have been dislocated, how many people are in shelters, how many state facilities/state supported facilities have been affected, how many state offices have been closed or otherwise affected, how many state employees have been affected by office closures, how many hospitals and nursing homes have been affected, how many water systems have been impacted, how many people without power, estimated cost impact, and many more.

Here's what we need today by 3:30 today and weekly each Wednesday by close of business:

  1. Very quickly and briefly, let us know the disaster impacts that have some connection to your district?
  2. What has your district done or what has your district been asked to do in response to the disaster?
  3. What new impacts have been discovered from the disaster?
  4. What, if any, additional resources may be needed to provide those services?

Conservation districts, please send your reports directly to Susie Vanderburg
