Livestock grants help protect water quality by assisting owners and operators of animal feeding operations in obtaining nutrient management plans.

The Washington Legislature appropriated funding to WSCC to distribute Livestock Grants to conservation districts.  The purpose of the Livestock funding is for conservation districts to assist owners and operators of animal feeding operations and concentrated animal feeding operations in developing nutrient management plans.

Funding also allows conservation districts to provide information to smaller scale livestock producers.  In addition, the Livestock Grant provides cost share funding for implementation of Best Management Practices such as facility gutters, livestock exclusion fencing, and manure containment facilities.
