The Conservation Commission reserves some rights 

Unless otherwise noted, photographs displayed on the Washington State Conservation Commission website (scc.wa.gov) are licensed by a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike license, both by the Conservation Commission and by the photographer who provided the original photograph. 

You must credit the photographer and Conservation Commission 

If you share, use, or adapt our photographs, you must credit the original photographer (if available) and the Washington State Conservation Commission as sources of the photo, in the following format: Photograph by [photographer's name]. Used by permission from www.scc.wa.gov".  Read more about our use of the Creative Commons CA-NC-SA license here.

Our consent is required for commercial use 

If you wish to use a photograph for commercial purposes, you must obtain our consent first.  There may be licensing fees associated with commercial use of our photographs.  The Washington State Conservation Commission reserves the right to deny requests for commercial use of photographs at our discretion.

Some information is protected from disclosure 

Personally identifiable information about private citizens will not be included with photographs unless those citizens have allowed us to publish such information.

Flickr™

This policy applies to photographs we may publish on other sites, including our Flickr.com site at http://www.flickr.com/photos/conservewa.

Our Flickr.com site allows Flickr members to post comments about individual photographs.  Comments and opinions expressed by individuals are theirs alone and do not reflect the opinions of the Conservation Commission or its employees.  The Conservation Commission reserves the right to edit or remove any comments at its discretion, and particularly under any of the following conditions:

  • Vulgar, offensive, threatening, or harassing language is used.
  • Comments are not related to the posted photograph.
  • Comments are in support or opposition to any person, campaign, or citizen intiative.
  • Comments promote a business or commercial interest.

Any communications through the Flickr.com system do not constitute a legal or official notice or comment to the Washington State Conservation Commission, or to any official or employee of the Conservation Commission, for any purpose.  Comments requesting disclosure of public records will not be considered a public records request.  Comments related to a proposed agency rule will not be considered.
