This annotated model agricultural conservation easement is intended as a drafting guide only. Each conservation easement should be tailored to address the objectives of the landowner, funding agencies (e.g., RCO, NRCS), and grantee(s) (the project sponsor or the State of Washington, and often land trusts), as well as the specific agricultural values and any habitat values intended for protection on the subject property.
This template was originally developed for the Farmland Program only. While some language, sections, and provisions have been identified to be removed, revised and/or replaced for Forestland projects, additional revisions may be required.
