We’ve just published the latest annual Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) Monitoring Report for the Farm Service Agency (FSA), and it offers some important insights into how CREP implementation is progressing across the state.
This year’s report also digs into more than a decade of monitoring data, revealing trends that can help guide riparian restoration work going forward.
From expected planting density and canopy development to broader riparian functions, the findings provide a clearer picture of what CREP‑style projects can realistically achieve over time.
After pulling together multiple data sources, we now have an updated look at current conditions, and the results highlight several challenges that deserve attention.
Many thanks to everyone who participated in field data collection this year and in previous years. Your work continues to build one of the most valuable long‑term datasets we have for riparian restoration in Washington.
