Using a targeted approach to invest in projects voluntarily installed by conservation districts and landowners, the Shellfish Program builds cumulative results for shellfish recovery.
The 14 conservation districts that contain shellfish growing areas (Clallam, Jefferson, Mason, Grays Harbor, Pacific, Thurston, Pierce, Kitsap, King, (Whidbey) Island, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, San Juan Islands).
Rolling / Monthly
Cost‑share awards pay for eligible BMPs that meet NRCS or SCC standards; an additional 25% of the cost‑share amount is automatically added for technical assistance, engineering, travel, and overhead. Goods/services and education/outreach costs are not eligible.
No additional match required beyond SCC cost-share; SCC funds BMPs plus 25% for TA/overhead.
Continuous As Funding Allows
No fixed deadline – projects are pulled and considered on the 1st of each month while funds remain.
SCC staff review projects after the 1st of each month and make funding decisions by the 15th.
Funding decisions are generally made by the 15th of each month.
Work must start within 120 days of award.
