Disaster Assistance Program

Do you own/rent a farm or ranch in Whatcom County that was impacted by flooding in November 2021?

Limited state funding is available to reimburse up to 75% of eligible damages or losses. The Washington State Conservation Commission and Whatcom Conservation District are administering grants through a new Disaster Assistance Program launched in April 2022.

Awards are made on a rolling basis until funds are expended.  Funding is limited, you are encouraged to apply early.  Applications will not be accepted after May 31, 2023 4:00 p.m.

Eligibility

This funding is available to farmers and ranchers in Whatcom County who:

  • Have sustained physical damage or economic loss due to the major flooding event that occurred in Whatcom County during November 2021, and
  • Can provide documentation of a reduction in agricultural income or activity as a result of the flood.

Apply by using the Disaster Assistance Program Online Application or download and print a hardcopy here. Please let us know if you need any assistance with the form or if you would like it in another format.

  • Email your application to disasterfunding@whatcomcd.org.
  • Fill out a hard copy at the Whatcom Conservation District main office: 6975 Hannegan Rd, Lynden, WA 98264.
