Arthur grew up on a small farm outside of Toledo, Washington, surrounded by forestry and agriculture. His proximity to natural resource management from a young age taught him the importance of stewardship and provided him with a framework for understanding the complex relationships between communities and the landscape. Since graduating from Centralia College in 2019, Arthur has participated in the conservation of natural resources on the municipal, county, and state level. Arthur comes to SCC from the Lewis Conservation District, where he managed the District’s riparian program, supporting landowners in their habitat restoration goals and contributing to salmon recovery efforts on the watershed scale.
Additionally, Arthur is a certified plant nerd and serves as the District 3 Representative on the Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board. In his free time, Arthur can be found exploring and botanizing the canyons and mountains of the Pacific Northwest or at home, tending a garden or propagating native plants.
