These guidelines were developed for the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) to provide financial assistance to CREP participants affected by a 2023–2024 USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) audit. The audit led to contracts being canceled, reduced, or voluntarily withdrawn due to ineligibility findings. Using funding authorized by a 2024 legislative proviso, SCC can offer a one-time payment equivalent to one year of lost annual rental income to eligible participants whose CREP contracts were impacted by the audit. This assistance is intended solely to offset financial losses from the FSA’s contract adjustments and does not reinstate the original contracts.
