SCC Welcomes A New Southeast Regional Manager

SCC is excited to announce that our newest hire, Tami Stubbs, will be stepping into the Southeast Regional Manager role starting August 18, 2025.

"We are thrilled to have such a talented and knowledgeable member of the conservation district community joining our district operations team and heartily welcome her on board," said SCC Executive Director James Thompson.

Northeast Regional Manager Mike Baden adds, "We can’t wait for Tami to get started, and we know that she will be a great asset to the team!”

About Tami

Tami is joining SCC after working as the Director of Growth and Sustainability at USA Pulses since 2023, and previously as a Conservation Coordinator at Palouse Conservation District for over seven years. Tami brings a passion for conservation agriculture and soil health to the position, as well as a strong interest in preserving farmland and helping multigenerational farms and ranches remain viable.

She holds a B.S. in Agronomy and an M.S. in Soil Science, both from Washington State University. She is a fifth-generation farmer and a native of eastern Washington.  When Tami is not at work, she enjoys gardening, running, hiking, and spending time with family on the farm in western Whitman County.

Tami will serve the Asotin, Columbia, Palouse, Pine Creek, Pomeroy, Rock Lake, Walla Walla, Franklin, Benton, and Whitman conservation districts.

Middle Snake Watershed Manager Bradley J. Johnson says:

"Tami’s commitment and dedication to natural resources are second to none, and she built a respected direct seed program with the Palouse Conservation District from the ground up. Area farmers respected her and knew that her family used the same practices on their farming operation. Tami is a great communicator and team player.  She is passionate about farming and ranching and will be a great asset to the conservation districts within her region."

NRCS Resource Conservationist Stephen Johnson says:

"Tami is amazing! Her vast knowledge and experience in farming, soil science research, and conservation have made her a well-respected member of the agricultural community. She is one of the most dependable people I’ve had the privilege of working with, and I look forward to seeing the strong partnership she continues to cultivate in this position."
